Bangalore,Then and Now

Me: Bangalore has been heaven for me for so many years, but now :(
My Mind: Over flowing traffic, poor drainage system, corrupt system, pot holed infrastructure, insufficient public transport and lot more
Me: Yes I am wondering what's wrong with my garden city
My Mind: Well, explosive growth: with this comes
- More population
- More Migrations
- More two/fur wheelers
With all the above growing at abnormal levels, the city is not well placed to accept all these changes.
Me: But why government is not doing any thing about all this
My Mind: Which Government, State or Central ? Each one has it's own style of working and almost always central and state are out of sync :(
Me: What's the problem now!
My Mind: With this growth, Govt is never prepared and it is always working in a late and re-active mode, so a small issue today which goes un-noticed, becomes a huge problem after few days/months
Me: What can we do, how can we help
My Mind: That's tough, but we should have small groups in every locality which helps itself , like getting the roads/drains cleaned, rather than always waiting for the Govt to do it. From the Govt perspective I would suggest to privatize BWSSB,KEB (now BESCOM) and most of the public facing companies to give maximum benefit to the public and to the Govt (trying to do this has its own issues).
Me: Why is traffic so congested ?
My Mind: I think most of the traffic related problem is due to people than the roads, people hardly/rarely follow traffic rules, every one seems to be in a hurry, not respecting other time or the basic traffic rules.
